So why Sand and Glitter? It's a fairly simple little story.
When Sascha was in hospital we had to send Huon to Childcare for more days than we really wanted to just so I could get in to see the girl every day. At this stage Huon really did not want to be dropped off there. Craig would be torn every morning between dropping Huey off and giving me a chance to see Sascha. It was not a choice we were terribly happy making.
Every night that Huon got home from Childcare he would be covered in glitter and his shoes would be full of sand. We eventually realised that this was a good title for that time in our lives. We had moments of such beauty that we felt our lives were covered in glitter. But we also had so many moments of shear frustration and sadness it was as if our shoes were constantly full of sand.
And hence Sand and Glitter
